Glenda Coronado Carillo

Legal Interpreter and Translator

Glenda moved to the United States with her family in 1989. Being the eldest child, Glenda took on a pivotal role in navigating the family’s affairs. As it often happens with immigrant families, she found herself interpreting the language, cultural norms, and civic processes for her parents, even from a tender age. Her experiences drove her to pursue higher education and inspired her to be of service to her community.

Through her own efforts, Glenda obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources with a minor in Economics. After working in banking for 12 years; where she had a special interest in helping Spanish speakers with their banking needs, Glenda found a renewed calling to further use her bilingual skills. She enrolled in the UCLA Legal Interpretation and Translation Spanish/English Program. Now, she holds a California State Court Spanish Interpreter Certification since 2013 and works in various Superior Courts and with private legal counsels throughout Southern California. Bridging communication and understanding between distinct parties is a passion of hers. This profession fulfills her calling and her life purpose. Moreover, Glenda is an avid volunteer for community causes, offering her language skills and otherwise. Wholeheartedly helping family and friends with their needs is also a personal trait of hers.

Glenda loves spending time with her husband; movie nights, “staycations” and international travel are favorites. Regular quality time with family, friends and her dog Maya is also a must for her. In between, one would find Glenda documenting her zest for life in social media.
