Dr. Joel Pérez is a dedicated leader and advocate for creating inclusive, impactful communities through cultural humility and organizational excellence. With a career spanning over two decades in higher education and leadership, Joel brings a wealth of experience in guiding organizations to achieve their goals while fostering a culture of inclusion, empathy, and growth.

As the founder of Apoyo Coaching and Consulting, LLC, Joel is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and a trusted expert in career transitions, leadership development, and cultural humility.  His book, Dear White Leader: How to Achieve Organizational Excellence through Cultural Humility, reflects his passion for supporting leaders in fostering organizational growth rooted in equity and inclusion.

Joel holds a doctorate in higher education administration from Claremont Graduate University. He has also earned distinguished certifications, including the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and Gallup Strengths Coaching.

Outside of his professional contributions, Joel has been married for 28 years, is the proud father of four children, and enjoys cheering on the Los Angeles Dodgers and watching movies.
