Katey Cabrera

Events Assistant

Katey graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies and Sociology.  During her time at APU, Katey participated in several very formative educational experiences including living abroad in South Africa and participating in an LA Term. Both experiences exposed her to eye-opening stories and ways of life, creating a desire to listen to stories of people's lives and experiences. After graduating Katey worked at AIDS Project Los Angeles as a volunteer coordinator as well as in the real estate and disability insurance fields.

For the past 15 years Katey has worked alongside her husband to raise their family while also holding numerous volunteer roles; including work with the Monrovia Youth Alliance, the Immigration Resource Center, coaching running teams at The Boys and Girls Club as well as her children's school teams. Katey has served on the Mountainside Board as a Neighborhood Engagement Representative and the PTA Board of her children's school.

Katey is currently an active member of the Compassionate Team at Mountainside Communion. Through her work throughout the San Gabriel Valley, Katey has heard many stories about people's lives and journeys, which has ignited her desire to engage in work that serves the immigrant community.
