Board Members Emeritus
Marcos Canales
IRC Ambassador
Marcos Canales, originally from Costa Rica, also grew up in Peru, Ecuador and Paraguay as the son of Peruvian Nazarene missionaries. Marcos received his B.A. in Philosophy and Theology from PLNU (‘05) and his Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. Since graduating from PLNU, Marcos has been church planting amongst the Latina community of the greater Los Angeles area for the last ten years. During this time, he has worked with non-profit community organizations in the areas of urban youth development, mentorship, and immigration advocacy. Currently, Marcos is the pastor of La Fuente Ministries- a bilingual, intercultural, and intergenerational ministry of Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene. A special focus of his ministry is the pastoral development of emerging Latino/a leaders. He also serves on the advisory board for the Immigration Resource Center of the San Gabriel Valley. His other passion includes spending time with his loving wife, Andrea, also a graduate of PLNU, and his son, Elias Kaleo. In his free time, Marcos enjoys watching, playing, and talking about soccer. He also loves to read Latino/a theology and to spend quality time (preferably with a cup of coffee) with friends and family.
