Volunteers Help Give Legal Conference Room a Glow up

Sonja Lind, Ph.D. is a faithful legal volunteer at the IRC who recently asked if her Running Club could volunteer as well. We had a special project just for them! With a grant we received in 2024, we had funds to replace a rug with wall to wall carpet squares. We gathered first for some coffee and pastries while sharing the vision and mission of the IRC to familiarize them with our work. This enthusiastic group started by removing existing furniture, mopped down the floor and prepared the room for the tiles. They then quickly took charge of measuring, cutting and placing the tiles. Finally, they cleaned and polished the furniture and returned them to the room. Finally, Sonja donated a beautiful Shepard Fairey print that they hung and also worked to arrange other hanging of existing art in the conference room. There was much laughter, joy and fun as we all worked together to make this room a much more inviting, comfortable and beautiful space for our clients who often experience very intense sessions in this room as they share their stories without team. We are grateful for the time that each volunteer donated to the IRC. Thank you Sonja for organizing this volunteer work day.
